You have booked your flight to Bali but you’re overwhelmed by all the picture perfect accommodations that are available online?

We’ve been on this island for more than 4 years, staying in all kinds of different places and helping lots of friends to find cute rooms and stunning villas.

This blog post will help you too to find the perfect place for you.
Here come our recommendations for backpackers, surfers and everyone else who can’t wait to soak up the sun & tropical vibes.

PART SIX // where to stay

If you are planning to go to Bali, you will find a crazily wide range of options for potential sleeping places online: homestays, hostels, hotels, apartments/ bungalowssurf camps or whole villas. In the following we wanna give you some examples of the different types of accommodations.

We are located in Canggu (West of Bali), so we have focused on this area. Our experiences and relationships to local people help us to give a reliable overview of cosy, comfy places to sleep and stay.

First some general tips:

- If you plan to stay in Bali for more than a month, it makes sense to book a cheap accommodation (e.g. a bed in a dorm) in advance and look for YOUR perfect place when you are already here. It is easier to check out the atmosphere, location and the condition of a place personally.

- Another option is to book a nice accommodation in advance for a couple of days and decide afterwards if you want to extend your stay. Maybe you can even negotiate a small discount face-to-face. Don’t stress yourself: there are many hostels or home stays available here, you don’t have to schedule your whole trip in advance.

- If you travel with some friends or family you can save some money if you book a whole apartment/villa (e.g. on Airbnb).

- Good to know: most hostels/hotels offer airport transfers for a reasonable price. Just ask for it!

- Define your requirements first!  Standards are varying strongly and the cheaper the accommodation, the less comfortable it will be. Thoroughly check out the facilities offered (western toilet/air condition or fan/WiFi/hot water)!
